Because possums are highly territorial and must be released on your property by law, we combine removal with proofing to stop them walking straight back in.

Depending on access and your roof setup, we install one-way excluder mechanisms or perform a soft-catch physical removal using humane live-capture equipment.
Proofing and Nighttime Release
For full-service clients, all gaps and entry points are permanently sealed leaving a single one-way exit. Any captured possum is released on your property after dark to prevent disorientation and predator exposure.
Final Inspection and Seal
A follow-up check confirms the roof is clear before the temporary exit point is permanently closed, completing the proofing.
What to Expect
Here's what happens before, during, and after your service.
Before
Ensure clear access to the roof hatch, ceiling cavity, and building perimeter. If you are using the removal-only option, have all sealing materials ready on site so entry points can be closed the same day. Keep pets indoors during the evening release to avoid stressing the possum.
During
Day 1 covers the site assessment, removal setup or physical capture, and initial sealing. Any captured possum is released on your property after dark. Over days 2 to 4, excluder doors are monitored if installed.
After
On the final visit (typically days 3 to 5), we inspect the roof space, remove any excluder door, and permanently seal the final entry point. Full-service removal and proofing is backed by a 12-month warranty on all sealed entry points. Removal-only service carries no warranty against re-entry, as long-term success depends on the builder or homeowner sealing all holes promptly.

We use durable, weather-resistant materials designed to withstand Australian conditions and possum activity.
- One-way excluder gates custom-fitted to allow possums to leave safely while preventing re-entry
- Padded, humane live-capture cages used only when excluder doors cannot be installed due to roof construction
- Heavy-gauge galvanized mesh, flashing, custom metal timber caps, and industrial roof-grade sealants
- Breathable, dark holding covers to keep captured possums calm and low-stress until nightfall
What's Not Included
To keep our service focused and effective, the following are outside the scope of this service.
- Off-site relocation to bushland, parks, or distant suburbs is not offered, as it is illegal under state wildlife legislation and fatal to the possum
- General pest treatments for insects or rodents are not included in possum removal
- For removal-only jobs, we are not responsible for possums re-entering if the builder or homeowner fails to seal all identified holes promptly after removal
